I thought there was zero good reason for Poets & Quants to continually rank Jack Welch's MBA highly until I realized that John Byrne, head of Poets and Quants, also co-wrote a book with Jack Welch. Otherwise, this is a for-profit program with a relatively high cost and zero brand recognition. If you have $45,000 to drop on an online MBA, you can find literally 50 other programs that would serve your career better.

I concur, MBA, especially in Europe, has no real value. Employers donot consider it a skill unless you are coming out of LBS or Insead.

Matt, since you are interested in MBA programs, you should pursue MBA programs in the Washington, D.C. area that will give you a good shot at having a career in government consulting at Booz Allen, Deloitte GPS, Guidehouse, or Accenture Federal Services. You mentioned you would like to get some international experience--try looking into teaching English abroad in Asia such as The English Program in Korea (EPIK Program) and the Japan and Exchange Teaching Program (JET Program). After spending time in Asia, you could apply for the Thomas Pickering Fellowship and the Rangel Fellowship Program which provides tuition support to pursue a graduate degree related to international relations as well as support MBA programs and then you land a position as a Foreign Service Officer at the State Department.
